  3. Hi!

My favorite new YA title that I've read recently was THE LIST by Siobhan Vivian. First of all, I adore a narrative told by multiple voices. Second of all, all 8 of the characters she writes are very compelling, and the premise was great: A high school where an anonymous list is posted the week of homecoming, listing each class's "Ugliest" and "Prettiest" girl... The story is told by this year's "crop" about how they deal with the labeling, and the new principal's quest to end the horrible list tradition.

I have only just started it, but I'm also really digging INSIGNIA by S. J. Kincaid. The talented gamer son of a deadbeat gambler is scouted by an elite military group to put his gaming into use in the current world war. It's very funny, smart and only 75 pages in is action-packed.

  9. I've enjoyed Cinder and Croak. Both great YA titles that make you *think!* I hate that Croak is only available in paperback--it'll die way too soon at the public library!
